New York Marathon 2023
Craig Mason & Justin Hall
Ran the New York marathon on November 5, 2023. This endeavor was part of our Project Turkey 2023 fundraiser.
This year close to 60,000 others joined them in their quest to crush the grueling 26.2 miles that is THE NEW YORK MARATHON! The first heat headed out at 8:30. Craig and Justin were part of the final heat and started their journey at 11:30 am.
Even before they stepped foot on the course, the first runners were crossing the finish line.
The start of the race was located on Staten Island and the Verrazzano-Narrows bridge would be their first hurdle. Excitement and anticipation was thick as the runners waited for the start.
The site as they approached the bridge was spectacular! The bridge is made up of two levels and runners were dispersed throughout both. As they entered into Brooklyn, throngs of spectators lined the course, cheering the runners on.
As they made their way through each borough the excitement continued. Bands were playing, people were cheering, it was amazing!
Their sacrifice, hard work and training paid off and they finished the race in 4 hours 48 minutes!
The entire weekend was alive with excitement; from racers village on Saturday through the marathon on Sunday. It was an experience they will never forget.
Thank you again, for your support of Project Turkey 2023.
