MASON Project Paddle 2020: Fundraising for Our Community
Supporting our local restaurant community and The Homeless Coalition of PBC
BENEFITTING THE BREAKING BREAD BREAKING BARRIERS PROGRAM FOR:
We are excited to announce our charitable event for 2020: MASON Project Paddle! The brainchild of MASON Development & Construction owner, Craig Mason, MASON Project Paddle emerged from his desire to help our local restaurant community affected by the COVID-19 crisis. “Allie and I love our community and enjoy dining out often with our family and friends. We couldn’t stand by and see the struggles of our favorite businesses without doing something to help,” says Mason.
After some brainstorming with the team, MASON Project Paddle was born with the goal of raising $60,000 for the 60 miles they would paddle from the Bahamas to the Jupiter Inlet. “We thought a $1,000 per mile would be a feasible goal to raise knowing how much our community supports one another, “ says Mason. “And we are kicking off the giving by donating $10,000.”
A team of 15 MASON employees will be paddling from West End Bahamas to the Jupiter Inlet on Saturday, August 15, 2020 (weather permitting) in a relay style event featuring surf skis, kayaks, and paddle boards. The team will train over the next several weeks to prepare for the crossing. The funds raised will be used to purchase meals from local restaurants that will then be donated to The Homeless Coalition of Palm Beach County “Breaking Bread Breaking Barriers” Program benefitting The Lewis Center.
“This is a win-win for everyone involved,” says Justin Hall of MASON. “We already have many partners that have expressed interest in donating funds. Knowing that we will, not only be supporting the local restaurant business owners and staff, but also providing the donation of much needed meals to the Lewis Center, has everyone we’ve spoken to very excited.”
A Facebook event page has been has been set up with details, as well as a GoFundMe page for donation collection. No donation is too small. Businesses and individuals interested in a larger sponsorship opportunities can contact us directly at AMason@MasonDC.com.
